I have not heard from DAW. Pardon me while I nibble my fingernails into stubs while praying very, very hard and reminding karma that it still owes me two.

I am doing my best to visualize an acceptance letter, phone call, or email from DAW.

Sent two more queries to agents, just for the heck of it.

And... it's off. All twenty pounds of it, or at least that's what it felt like. (crossposted)

Well, I got a reply from the agent today in the mail. A nice letter, but a rejection, alas. So, off to DAW it goes, I guess! They're relatively fast, so at least I should know something soonish. Just have to print it out...

Oh, and due to the wonders of delivery confirmation, I know my partial made it to the agency. Here's to hoping.

Second response from agent queries:

Dear Ms. St. Clair:

Thank you for your recent query. Although your story sounds fascinating, we
unfortunately do not feel it is right for our agency at this time. We
encourage you to query other agencies, and we wish you all the best in
finding other representation. Thank you again for thinking of us.

Oh well. At least I'm getting nice responses. I can't really complain.

Further submissions are on hiatus (except for sending HD to DAW if I get a rejection from the agent) until I get this ebay orgy over with.

Sent the synopsis yesterday, got a reply today. A rejection, but a very nice one at that.

Dear Ms. St. Clair:

We've read your chapters of The Redemption of Joshua Bates, and we'll
have to pass on the project. Your writing is very good, but you don't
have the dark, eerie tone that we expect in a vampire romance. Our
readers like to feel that the vampire is a serious threat to the hero or
heroine, whichever one is human. It's obvious that both your hero and
your heroine are nice people, so it's clear that they'll end up together
in the end, which takes away from the suspense.

This does not mean that your book won't work for other publishing
houses, and we wish you luck in placing it elsewhere.

A nice rejection! So I sent a reply asking them about YA series, because I really really want to have S&P there.

Okay, sent a query to Imajinn Books about Redemption, and they replied on the same day asking for the first five chapters and a synopsis.

Guess I'd better get cracking, huh? Geez. (I didn't expect such a quick reply.)
